Jesse - Shop Manager

As manager, Jesse is excited to be team leader of a great crew here at Visalia Cyclery. He is always looking for ways to reach out to our local cycling community & get people plugged in. Creating cyclists is one of his biggest priorities. If you ever have any needs, don't hesitate to ask.

Going stir crazy after 1 whole week of being out of the military Jesse turned to his passion of cycling. Here now since 2010 Jesse is still enjoying the change of pace here at Visalia Cyclery. Born and raised in Visalia, Jesse was changing flats for the neighborhood before he was 10 and hasn't stopped since. Despite sitting at a desk way too much these days he is always eager to hop on his gravel bike and go explore dirt roads. XC mountain biking while stationed in Texas was his first real taste of riding, however these days gravel and road are now his passion. Some of his favorite brands are Specialized, Hunt, Salsa, SRAM, Absolute Black, and Molten Speed. If Jesse could only own ONE bike it would his Specialized Crux. He also has a passion for rebuilding old classics and bringing old bikes new life. To improve his ride quality Jesse frequently uses 1000+ lumen rechargeable lights for both day and night use, upgrades his bikes with Absolute Black oval chainrings, runs Orange Seal sealant to help prevent punctures, takes all front derailleurs and shifters off to run reliable 1x drivetrains and keeps track of his adventures with a Garmin 840.

One of Jesse's favorite quotes is "I get paid to hurt people"-Jens Voigt. Another quote and life lesson Jesse lives by was from one of his Drill Sergeant's in boot camp, "Slow is Smooth and Smooth is Fast".
